Fantastic voyage again
I know I posted using that title last weekend. I hope I haven’t posted this video before. It’s from the SIGGRAPH conference. IMA solutions presents a “fly through” of a CT of a mummy. Although I do similar work, it’s nowhere near this good. At least the animation part.

Stanford scans of mummy to be featured in San Francisco museum exhibition
If you haven’t seen this already, here’s my microCT of a mummy bird. http://goo.gl/gvbzI?
#ScienceEveryday for when it isn’t ScienceSunday curated by Allison Sekuler Rajini Rao Robby Bowles and me.
Oh my! Incredibly sophisticated treatment…the last couple of minutes are mind blowing. Did they really take us through the brain and spinal canal starting 6:50?
Yes, Rajini Rao
The YouTube clip that you linked to was particularly useful.
The Stanford CT scan?
Yes, that one. They explained the positioning of the artifacts, like the beetle, and brought together all aspects of the project..medicine, history, technology, etc.
Very Interesting Chad Haney. Thanks for sharing this one!
Excellent. This is the ultimate interface between the public and a precious artifact. When working briefly in a small museum with Native American artifacts quite a long time ago, the focus was always on achieving the difficult balance between the all-important preservation of the artifact while maintaining at the same time the authenticity of the museum visitors’ experience. Thanks for this, I really needed an uplift today regarding my opinion of humanity.
