Good news for medical imaging
This is great for medical imaging and the Wisconsin economy. As the article states, a facility will be build that uses a greener method for making technetium-99, which is used in Single Photon Emission Tomography (SPECT). SPECT is commonly used in cardiovascular stress test among other medical images. It would also alleviate the reliance on the only 3 production facilities left: 2 in Canada and 1 in the Netherlands.
